The Electric Car
One example of an electric car is The Chevy Volt. It is designed to run on electricity only from it's on-board batteries for up to 40 miles. The average distance most Americans drive on a daily basis from home to work is about 33 miles.
The first Chevy Volt electric cars are scheduled to reach showrooms in the fall of 2010 The cost is estimated to be about $35,000 US in the United States.

GM is not the only big automaker coming out with electric cars. Chrysler is coming out with 3 electric cars, the ecoVoyager is designed for those who appreciate elegance and simplicity, the Jeep Renegade is designed for stylish green buyers, and the Dodge ZEO is an electric vehicle aimed at driving enthusiasts.
Most electric cars will bring you from home to work and back again, GAS FREE.
